The Civil War Today

Discrimination is deffinately one of the biggest issues that the Civil War has affected in our society today. During Reconstruction, the Civil Rights movement was created for the former slaves across the country after the Civil War. This problem kept coming back years later, so the Civil Rights Law was created in 1875. Over the years, this law was banned and changed so many times, but the final one was the Civil Rights Law of 1964. As you can see this spread over a very long period of time, and it still effects us today.

This last link mostly explains how many times the Civil Rights Law has been changed and affected from Civil War times to modern days. It also explains both the Northerner's and the black's view on the Civil Rights Movement and the Civil Rights Law. As you can imagine, the Northerners wanted to preserve what they had fought for and weren't too happy about it. But the blacks knew it would be a turning point.
